‘On the surface’ is a photography and video project. In this series I document how the urban and natural landscapes interact and intersect. I took the photos mostly on the embankments of the Dnipro River, in the center of Kyiv. On the surface there is a collision of the natural environment and technical, made by human. I photographed garbage that ends up in the water. The series also reflects our attitude towards the environment and, therefore, towards ourselves, because we continue to use natural resources. It also serves as a reminder that responsibility begins with each one of us in our everyday activities.
